Prayers + Positive Affirmations for Anxiety
Hey, friends!
I firmly believe in the power of prayer. I also know how difficult it can be to pray when you’re in the midst of a trial or a battle with anxiety. I wanted to help make it simple. Just read the prayers below and invite God’s presence into your situation.
Prayer for your Heart +Mind.
God, Your Word says in Philippians 4:6-7 to “not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Today I lift my requests to You and release them from my heart and my mind. I know that You are for me, and that is enough. Your Word also says in Proverbs 24:3 to guard my heart for from it everything else flows. Help me to do that. Let your Holy Spirit guide my thoughts, actions, and words. Help me to see when to close doors, when to turn off shows, and what music allows your peace to flourish. I thank You that it is your will for me to live in peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for your Future.
God, I know that if there is anyone who cares about my future, it’s You. So many times I think about what is to come, and I am paralyzed with fear. My future may seem scary, but I know You are already there. I have to admit, sometimes I don’t trust You enough to let go of my problems.
You are the God who calms seas and settles my soul. Your Word says in Matthew 6 that if the birds don’t worry about their future, I shouldn’t. You love me, and I know that your plans for me are far better than anything I could ever dream up for myself. My situation seems rocky, but I do know that after the storm always comes the sun.
I release my future into Your hands and accept your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer of Trust.
God, it may seem silly, but the biggest problem I have in my relationship with You is trusting You. You, the Creator of the universe. You, the God who moves mountains. But it’s true. Today I am choosing to close my eyes and lean into what I know. What I know is that You are a good God who only wants good things for me.
My faith is not predicated on understanding; it’s predicated on trust. Your Word says in Isaiah 26:3 that, “With perfect peace You will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust You.” So today I choose to trust you, and I lean on the peace that You provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
